Part of renewing the planet is treating the people who live here with care and respect. As a Fair Trade company, we treat the living and working conditions of all employees with the utmost importance. All vendors and suppliers of Give A Green Bag have been chosen because they too demand equality in the workplace.
Give A Green Bag and its vendors employ only legal adults while obeying local labor laws.
We aim to help producers in developing countries obtain better trading conditions and promote sustainability.
We advocate the payment of a higher price to producers as well as exceeding social and environmental standards.
We encourage education and invest in projects that promote improvement to areas without proper facilities.
We regularly track our vendor's websites as well as those who follow labor issues in countries we source from.
We utilize social media like Twitter and Facebook to familiarize ourselves with our customers, allowing an open discussion to occur between producer and consumer.

Going green is only the first step. Our next generation products reduce your impact in more than one area of life. We call this Full Spectrum Living. Years have been spent researching products and designing prototypes, all in an effort to create a sustainable business.
Being involved in an environmental cause entails commitment and dedication. Our pursuits of "green certifications" like Fair Trade Federation and Green America have informed how we approach business decisions.
Our suppliers have been chosen because they hold the same high standards that we do. We keep constant contact with our vendors, receiving regular updates on business flow involving every step of products. During our vetting process, we find out as much detail as possible about the company, including the sourcing of raw materials, employment of workers at all levels and investment in the community that creates its workforce.
Suppliers with green and Fair Trade certifications move to the top of the list. Though its true not every certifying organization holds much credibility, we do the research to find out how they conduct business. We consider those who approach economic and social improvements locally to be a part of the change. Through discussions with industry leaders, we've found the most successful companies are those who give back to those who support them the most -the employees.
Any business can call themselves green and many do, which is unfortunate for consumers. Like shoppers, we are approached by vendors trying to sell their product. The only way to truly know what you're buying is to do the research and find out where it came from. |
